Like one big family

One week in Hamina Tattoo is over and it feels like the summer ended as well. During the week I kept thinking about the very unique working environment our band has. It’s hard to imagine other than musicians to spent so much time together during working trips. We travel with one bus together and share hotel rooms. It is very easy to create close connections with other band members. And in some way it’s part of making the music together.

It’s interesting to find different kind of roles and relationships inside the band. In away for me it feels like almost a big family. This time in Hamina we were accomodating in a folk high school and I felt it brought us more together. During the free time people would do sports, go fishing and so on together or alone. Sauna on the sea side was warm every day and night. People got together around the fire in the evening or some stayed in the city centre. Anyway, you would find company if you wanted to do something.

Of course we also were there to work. All in all Hamina Tattoo was a great experience. Again I saw a lot of people around the world and shows went well. There were also many other events going on in the city, but instead of filling my head with music I choose to enjoy swimming and sauna.

Now it’s time to prepare to autumn and up coming concerts.
